Bag Of Snakes!

Session Date: 05/03/2013

Our Dresden Files campaign is building up to it’s EPIC conclusion next Friday (03/10/2013) night! However, since I (Patrick) am a horrible monster and neglected to update the blog last week I will combine the past two game nights into one “bonus” blog post. I know, I know, I’ve failed you all! Oh and there isn’t really anything bonus-y in this blog post either…

The beginning of our latest session began with the characters being awoken by the RCPD’s S.W.A.T. team and hauled off to the “pokey”. It all went downhill from there. Todd and Jayson “skyped” in to OOTAK’s latest session…

James (aka Leopold): Hot on the trail of whomever, or rather, whatever, schemes to unleash a great evil upon an unsuspecting Runson City. Leo used his magic to make one of Jayson’s NPCs have a very bad day. Leopold spent a good bit of time trying to convince the RCPD’s own, aptly named, Detective Cannon (think Dennis Franz from NYPD Blue) that his presence at the scene of a crime was for the greater good of the city and that a madman was on the loose. After being bailed out of jail by a mysterious stranger, Leopold immediately set back to work tracking down the thing seeking to plunge Runson City into an unspeakable darkness and he even managed to drag his “friends” along with him.

Becky (aka Brandi): Spent most of the session preparing food, chatting on the phone and revealing Eric’s embarrassing taste in American cinema. Brandi did accompany the “heroes” to yet another crime scene, but spent the whole time “hiding” in the bushes with Cody.

Eric (aka Cody): Wasn’t impressed with Detective Cannon’s line of questioning and enjoyed probably the best in-character interaction of the night. Cody promptly grew annoyed after being bailed out and questioned by the group’s mysterious benefactor and wanted to kill the gentleman in question. In the end, Cody hid in the bushes (at the behest of Gus and Leopold) with Brandi, but sprung to the group’s aid when the “Black Mamba” made yet another attempt to get even with his arch-nemesis Gus Eager; unfortunately Cody couldn’t get his hands on the annoying bastard and rip him to shreds. Next time Cody, next time…

Todd: Got a chance to listen in on the session and offer up his usual witty observations. Listen really closely or you might miss them!

Patrick (aka Gus): Wanted his lawyer dammit! Gus tried in vain to convince Detective Cannon that he wanted to find the killer of his production assistant. He also unsuccessfully attempted to lie his way out of jail. Gus tried and (mostly) succeeded in defending his “blackness” later on in the session, which prompted a close encounter with a van.

Jayson (aka GM): Wow’d us with his knowledge of police procedures, admittedly gleaned from watching two hours of some cop-show on television. “Habeas corpus!” we’ve got rights dammit!. Our GM assured us that the end of this story arc draws nigh, with next session probably being a wrap-up with a big reveal! OOTAK safely established that “Swordfish” is one of Jayson’s favorite movies… ever… in the history of film…

Enjoy!
